Sunday Telegraph reports on British victim of European Arrest Warrant

In the Sunday Telegraph, Christopher Booker reported on the account given in the House of Commons last week by Frank Dobson MP of how one of his constituents was extradited to Spain under the European Arrest Warrant (EAW).

Joe Mendy was served with an EAW in Liverpool three years after allegedly counterfeiting a 50 euro note in Spain.

Booker recounts how following his extradition Mr Mendy was informed by Spanish police that he would face a year on remand in a Spanish prison before his case was heard. Instead Mr Mendy chose to plead guilty and was fined 600 euro.
